Mental health is an important part of well-being. Counseling can improve how you function at work, home and in your relationships. 


I offer mental health and health behavior counseling.  My approach is eclectic and I draw from ACT, CBT, Mindfulness Practices, and brain science. I have a  solution focused orientation.  The duration of counseling can be brief or intermittent ("as needed").  Counseling can consist of learning about feelings, needs, thoughts and behaviors.  Collaboratively we will strive to make sense of what's happening for you.  It's helpful to identify and try on skills for stress management, communication, awareness of feelings, thoughts, and behaviors.  Setting emotional boundaries and problem solving are also useful skills to incorporate when meeting life's transitions and challenges.  Understanding neuroplasticity can also engage ourselves to feel empowered to make helpful changes.

I can be helpful in these areas:

1.  Mental Health:  Anxiety, Depression, Stress, Grief, Life Transitions, Insomnia and Low Motivation.

2.  Personal Growth Consulting:   Recovering from an break up, managing challenging emotions, being vulnerable, setting boundaries, growing resiliency, cultivating positive emotions, starting a mindfulness practice, increasing self compassion, etc. 

PGC is for those who:

  • would benefit from a few sessions or for intermittent support

  • mental health therapy is not indicated (there is no medical necessity for therapy)

  • are not using insurance

  • might have ambivalence about seeing a therapist for the first time

3.  Letters for adults seeking gender affirming medical interventions


If you are new or interested in counseling consider the following:

  • You don't need to have a mental illness or be in a crisis to seek counseling.

  • Even brief short term or intermittent sessions can be helpful for getting you back on course.

  • Friendships are great but sometimes a therapeutic professional is needed.

  • You are not broken, weak or crazy.

  • You can choose to grow and be imperfect at the same time.

  • Not growing is also a choice.

Payment is due at the end of the session.   I use Ivy Pay for collecting payment.  Credit/bank/HSA cards are accepted.

48 Hour Cancellation Policy

Clients can reschedule or cancel sessions via email or phone. Please cancel within 48 hours to avoid being billed for a $20 fee.  If you don't arrive for your scheduled session you will be responsible for the full session fee.
